2015 Recycled Rides Project

The Brenner Family of Dealerships Collision Center is pleased to announce: for the second year in a row, we will be participating in Progressive’s Recycled Rides Project.

Last year, through this program, more than 100 veterans and their families received keys to their newly refurbished vehicles on Veteran’s Day. This program is run through local NABC member body shops (such as our Brenner Collision Center). Progressive recycles and donates vehicles that have been involved or recovered in a total loss claim. These vehicles are then fully restored by the technicians pictured above, and donated to a local Veteran family in need.

Our technicians donate their time to work on this project (this is not a paid project) – they solely choose to work on this vehicle for a family in need. Most of the materials are then donated to our body shop at little or no cost from a variety of companies. This year our collision center will be rebuilding a Nissan Altima to donate to a local veteran on Veteran’s Day.

Now, let’s introduce you to the technicians who have graciously donated their time to help restore the Altima:

First up, we have Collision Center Manager, Mr. Chris Prater. Chris has been leading our Collision Center team for three years now. Prior to becoming the Collision Center Manager, Chris was a technician and an estimator here in our body shop. He was then promoted to shop foreman, before officially taking over the shop in 2012.

Mr. Logan Leer came to us in 2013 as a senior in the co-op program through the Carlisle Vo-Tech Center. Since then, Logan has become a full time technician. This is Logan’s second Recycled Rides project.

Up next is Mr. Alan Crum, who has been in the body shop business for 30 years now. Alan joined our Brenner team back in 2013, and this is his Recycled Rides project.

For the past 37 years, Mr. Tom Smith has been employed here at Brenner Nissan. In total, he has dedicated 40 years in the auto industry. This will be Tom’s second Recycled Rides project.

We also have Mr. Mike Humphreys, a veteran of the industry for more than 30 years. Mike joined Brenner 18 months ago. This is also Mike’s Mike’s second year working on the Recycled Rides project.

Mr. Carl Wilson has worked in body shop for more than 40 years, employed with Brenner for the past eight. This will be Carl’s second Recycled Rides project.

Joining Brenner as a painter a year ago, Mr. Matt Turns has been in the automotive business for over 7 years altogether. This will be Matt’s 5th Recycled Rides project.

We also have Mr. Davante Woodward. Davante joined our team last year as a co-op student from the Dauphin County Vo-Tech Center. Davante is currently learning how to become a painter for our Collision Center. This will be his second year donating his time to the Recycled Rides project.

Last, but certainly not least, we have Mr. Matt Wagner. Matt is a mechanic in our main shop who has graciously donated his time to help our Collision Center get the vehicle ready for donation on November 11th, 2015. This is Matt’s first Recycled Rides project.

On behalf of the entire Brenner Family staff, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the technicians listed above. We are so grateful for all of you taking the time to work on this project to help a local family in need. Without your dedication, this project would not be possible.

Below you can find photos of the Altima that will be donated on November 11th.
